Before I got my start as a copywriter, I was in the middle of a Ph.D. program in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology at Penn State.
I was there from 2000 to 2005 and decided to graduate with a Master's degree. Why? I felt the urge to change careers and go into copywriting.
My copywriting career launched with great success because research is paramount for great copy.
I had a knack for research, rooted in my science background, which allowed me to outperform more experienced copywriters.
This didn’t go unnoticed, especially when one of the bigger internet marketers at the time needed to hire a copywriter:

I was brought in to write for Dan Kennedy’s company after being referred internally.
While there, I:
• Helped fill major SuperConference events
• Wrote promotions that continued running as controls
• Sold $34,325 from stage in a single InfoSummit presentation
• Presented to high-level mastermind groups
During this period I was also invited to write for Agora Financial, crafting event promotions for Harry Dent.
And I had the opportunity to work directly with the late Clayton Makepeace.
That’s the equivalent of being invited into the most demanding rooms in direct response.
You don’t get asked back if you can’t produce.:)
